Description

The Individual Giving Manager ensures Free Press has the funds to fuel our fight to keep the internet accessible to all, curb hate and disinformation online, end mass surveillance, protect press freedom and co-create Black & POC power in our media systems. They lead our individual-donor program and thrive on connecting and building relationships with individual donors at all giving levels, and they’re able to tell the Free Press story to a variety of people in ways that make supporting our work irresistible. They also anchor the development team’s data-management needs, keeping our CRM in top shape and producing useful, accessible reports.

A successful candidate will have 5 or more years of directly relevant experience in fundraising in a nonprofit public interest organization or similar setting, a strong interest in Free Press’ mission and a commitment to race equity.  This position may be based in our D.C. office or from a home office anywhere in the U.S.

The starting salary is $65,000-$70,000. To counter pay inequality and uphold internal parity, we use a non negotiable salary system.

We value excellence and diversity in our workforce. People of color, women, people with disabilities, lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, transgender, gender-nonconforming and formerly incarcerated individuals are strongly encouraged to apply.

We are actively seeking to build a diverse and inclusive team with a wide range of backgrounds, perspectives and skills.  If you meet some of the qualifications in the job postings, we encourage you to apply or to reach out for more information. We know groups subjected to systemic oppression– including people of color, women, people from working class backgrounds, and people who identify as LGBTQ – are less likely to apply unless and until they meet every requirement for a job. Therefore, we strongly encourage applications from people with these identities or who are members of other communities who are marginalized.

The full job description, information about our generous benefits, and how to apply, including how to request accommodations in the application process, are at the application link, here:  https://bit.ly/individual-giving-manager

We'd love to have you engage with us to explore if this is the right opportunity for you!
